how did you get here:
 
your login is a DJ login which enables you for the DJ functionality.  you just logged in and clicked on the "station" tab on the top nav bar.
 
 
what can you do here:
 
you can decide whether you want to be "ON AIR" or "OFF AIR" as a DJ.

there are separate sets of functionality you can do "OFF AIR" then "ON AIR".  basically when you go "ON AIR", you create and update your playlists real time while you do your show.  evetything else you do "OFF AIR"...  (see help on common DJ stuff and station manager's stuff)

 
 
how can you do it:
 
1. if you want to go "OFF AIR" to do your common DJ stuff or station manager's stuff, you just need to push the "Go for it!" button.  the radio button that chooses ON or OFF air (next to the big "OFF AIR" and "ON AIR" on the page) is already marked for OFF AIR by default:

OFF AIR you will have access to off-line functionality...
2. if you want to go "ON AIR", do the following (see picture below):

    WARNING: if you go ON AIR, you will automatically log off whoever is ON AIR at the present time - effectively take over the show!  therefore you should only go ON AIR whenever you are scheduled to do your show!!!  this is a potential place for accidental screw-up or misuse.  therefore whenever a DJ goes ON AIR, their login will be recorded with the system.  the station manager can generate a report on DJ ON AIR login activity and take away login privileges of DJs if (s)he finds abusive situations!!!

  • mark the radio button next to the big "ON AIR" in the red area of the screen
  • if you already have a show you want to go ON AIR with, then choose your show from the dropdown box where it says "scheduled shows".
  • if you don't have a show, then you can just mark the genres of your program coming up by selecting one or more of the genre check boxes.  you can also enter a short description of your program (up to 20 chars) that will display on the home page

    NOTE: you can EITHER select a show, OR mark genres and write comment to go ON AIR.  you CAN NOT mix the two, as each show already has its genres and descriptions!!!

  • push the "Go for it!" button on the top of the frame

FEW MORE NOTES ON THIS PAGE:

  • the station manager (or delegate) can create the shows of the station; so if you are a DJ and you can't see your show, then contact your station manager; (s)he should be able to create it for you on the program schedule.
  • the kinds of genres available are determined by all the participating stations by demand;  if you can's see the genre of your show, then you can write to help@grapefruitmusic.org and we will try to incluse it;  or you can just choose the genres "No category" or something similar.  this is mainly important to listeners trying to decide which stations to listen to or check out...
