HELP: insert new playlist item

how did you get here:

you clicked on the "insert new after this" link on a playlist item on the manage your past playlists page to insert a new playlist item.

what can you do here:

you can insert a new playlist item with all its details into your playlist (your station's playlist at the same time). the new song will be inserted in time after the song you clicked on to get here, unless you change the default playtime.

how can you do it:

1. first click on the first letter of the band of your event:

pick an existing band:

the page will then refresh with the bands of the starting letter you clicked on.

2. then you can EITHER select from existing bands already in the system:

PICK AN EXISTING BAND:
MDC MINOR THREAT MINUTEMAN MONKS, THE

OR you can create a new band for your playlist item:

OR CREATE A NEW BAND:
band name:

NOTE: if you marked a band AND also filled out the text box under band name: then the name you filled out WILL OVERWRITE any bands you might have marked at the same time.

NOTE: adding a band that is already added to the system will not do any harm and it will not produce duplicate entries, unless you enter a misspelled name.

NOTE: when you will want to add a new band such as "The Fall" to the grapefruitmusic list of bands, entries "The Fall" and "Fall, the" will be automatically converted to "FALL, THE" - converting it to all upper case and moving the first "The " to the end and adding a period in between.

3. optionally you can fill out other details about your playlist item:

brief (255 chars):
playtime:		*

NOTE: the playtime already filled in the "playtime:" textbox is set to 10 seconds after the playtime of the playlist item where you clicked "insert after this". you can change this time if you need to. if you change this, stick to the same date/time format you see.

4. after you are done, press the "insert" button.

what's next:

the playlist item will be inserted to your (and your station's) playlist. after you pushed the button, you will be taken back to the playlist maintenance screen where you can verify your changes.
