how can you do it?

what's next?

how did you get here:

you are a station manager (or delegate) and you clicked on the "update/manage station audio feeds" link from the OFF AIR station manager functionality page.

what can you do here:

you can update, delete, and add audio feed INFO and LINK of your station so that listeners can directly link to them from your station's detail page  there can be many types and speed of feeds per station, even though most stations only have a single audio feed.

when you add an audio feed to your station, listeners on your station's detail page can click on the corresponding icons that will take them to the URL you are entering.  in case of a RealAudio feed, clicking on this icon will automatically launch the Real player.  in other situations the URL can take the listener to some other page where they can click to listen.

an audio feed has a TYPE (like Real), a SPEED (like 32Kbps) and a URL address (like http://www.someradio.org/listen/live.ram)

how can you do it:

UPDATING: - pick the choices that describe your feed TYPE and SPEED and fill out the URL field of the the feed's row.  then press the "Update" button of the row.

DELETING: - press the "Delete" button of the feed's row you want to delete.

ADDING: - pick the choices that describe your feed TYPE and SPEED and fill out the URL field of the the LAST row.  then press the "Add" button of the row.

NOTE: if you don't see your feed's TYPE or SPEED, then write to help@grapefruitmusic.org and we will include it for you.

EXPLANATION OF THE FIELDS:

  • Type - this is the type of your feed.  this determines what player you will need to use to listen to the audio feed, such as RealPlayer.

  • Speed - this is the speed of your feed, such as 16Kbps or 32Kbps (Kilo Bytes Per Second).  this is the function of your audio feed server setup and capacity.

  • Feed URL - this is the address (URL) of your feed.  if listeners click to this address, they should be able to hook up to your feed and listen.

what's next:

after you are done, listeners on your station's detail page can click on the icons to listen to your station feeds.
