how did you get here?

what can you do here?

what's next?

how did you get here:

you are a station manager (or delegate) and you clicked to "update/manage station DJs" link from the OFF AIR station manager functionality page.

what can you do here:

you can update, delete, and add DJs to your station:

DELEGATING STATION MANAGER FUNCTIONALITY: - mark the "Mgr?" checkbox for the DJs you want to delegate this role.

NOTE: delegates will be able to do everything a station manager can, including further delegating and deleting the original station manager, so delegate carefully...

UPDATING: - fill out the fields of the the DJ's row and press the "Update" button of the row.

DELETING: - press the "Delete" button of the DJ's row you want to delete.

ADDING: - fill out the fields of the the LAST row and press the "Add" button of the row.

NOTE: the password field is never displayed, but you have the chance to thange it.   after you changed a password for a new or existing DJ, even though it will not display, your changes WILL take effect.

EXPLANATION OF THE FIELDS:

  • Mgr? - this marks station manager access.  if you check this, the DJ will have the same functionality as the station manager, making it a "DELEGATE".

  • DJ name - the name of the DJ, as displayed on the DJ, show and station detail pages.

  • Login name - this will be the user's login name in the system.  this, together with the password will identify a DJ and his/her access to station functionality.  we advise to use someone's email address, as this field has to be unique within the system.

  • First name - self explanatory...  this field is only used for announcements to DJs in emails.

  • Last name - self explanatory...  same as the above.

  • DJ email - self explanatory...  fill this out, especially if you did not use an email address for the login name.

  • Password - the password you set here for DJs can be then changed by them when they log on (on their personal listener page).  fill out this field when adding new DJs or changing it for someone who forget it.  after your update, the password will not be displayed on this page along with the other fields for security.  however the station manager can always change them.

  • Public playlist - this is where the station manager can make a DJs playlists

    • Y - PUBLIC - viewable by all listeners (DJ will not have a chance to decide this...)

    • N - NOT PUBLIC - not viewable by any listeners; playlist items for the DJ will be marked "Private" on station playlists (again, the DJ can not change this)

    • D - UP TO DJ - the DJ will have the chance to decide whether his/her playlists will be PUBLIC or PRIVATE on the station playlists.  in this case the DJ can make this choice on the playlist maintenance page.

what's next:

after you push any of the buttons, the page will refresh with your changes (except for sidplaying the password...).  if you add or update a DJ to your station, that DJ can go ON or OFF AIR immediately.  similarly if you delete a DJ, (s)he will no longer be able to log in as a DJ to your station.
