after you have been through all this and you finally have the band name (which IS hopefully the one you liked, and you did not mis-spell the name), then if you are somewhat organized, you may write it down on some piece of paper, which you will loose shortly to KEEP TRACK OF THEM.

let's say you have gone through all this (I have...), you still need to FIND OUT WHEN ANY OF THESE BANDS PLAY IN YOUR AREA.  chances are you will miss them because you did not go through your local paper thoroughly enough to notice that couple of those bands you really liked actually played last week not that far away from you; in other words you missed some good shows.

you are also more and more convinced that there are hardly any good shows left and you hardly buy any music anymore because you are FED UP WITH SPENDING YOUR MONEY ON BAD CONCERTS and commercial shit

in the meantime YOUR FAVORIT BANDS-TO-BE are playing nearby for audiences of maybe 8 people, and they are getting DEPRESSED because noone seems to care.

there comes GRAPEFRUITMUSIC.  now if you hear something you like, you just log in and go to that station's detail page where you can see who is playing and what were the previous songs REAL TIME, and if you like what you hear, you can click the "Add current band to my favorits!" button which adds the current band played by the station to your collection of bands you like...

and by DJs adding concerts to their station program schedule and listeners adding concerts to their personal calendars, EVENTS WILL also SHOW UP ON YOUR PERSONAL CALENDAR OF EVENTS if the band is in your favorits collection, without any of your effort.

then you can just check your calendar periodically and for events you might be interested in checking out.   you can also ENCOURAGE YOUR FAVORIT STATIONS TO PARTICIPATE in grapefruitmusic so you will have all these benefits.   hopefully you will DISCOVER MANY NEW BANDS you like and they will have more people checking out their concerts...

• as a registered listener, click on the "view calendar of your favorit bands" link on your personal area.

• click on the "Update" link on the top of the calendar; the page will refresh with the image in each day's cell.

• click on the image on the day when you want to insert your event in

• follow the steps on the update calendar for day page to add a new event to your calendar (which will show up on other listeners personal calendars IF they have the band in their collection as well...)
