how did you get here?

what can you do here?

how can you do it?

what's next?

how did you get here:

you must be a station DJ and you clicked on the "edit station music calendar" link on the "dj offline menu" page.

what can you do here:

  • as a station DJ you can update the calendar of your station's recommended events.  everyone can see the station music calendar which is linkable from the station detail page

  • add your recommended events.  since they will be valid events, they will also show up on anyone else's favorits calendar who have the band of the event you entered in their favorits collection!!!

NOTE: the station music calendar is not location specific.  in the process the metro area will default to the station's metro area, but events can appear in different metro areas the DJ changes this...

NOTE: events are universal.  anyone can see them if they care about the band of the event.  when you are adding an event, you might be also creating a new band in the system.  for now any listener is able to add events and bands to the system which will be universal.  later on in the future we might find that certain individuals are screwing with the system and entering false bands and events.  if this becomes a serious issue, we might need to change the system to only allow station DJs to enter new bands and events directly into the system.  hopefully this will not be the case and grapefruitmusic can serve as a true community for those with more refined taste...

    how can you do it:

  • adding events - if you want to add station recommended events, click on the image of the day where you want to add an event.  you will be taken through the process of adding a calendar event.  if you will need help during this process, click for help on the particular page in question.

  • viewing already entered event details - when looking on the calendar month, days when there are any station recommended events/concerts will be highlighted and will have a brief list of event links.  you can then click to view more detailed info on the day's link or on specific events' links - just like when you are viewing a "station's music calendar"...

  • navigating in time - if you are not looking at the right month, you can navigate to it.   the calendar defaults to the current month.  you can navigate to another month by:
    • clicking on the Previous Month or Next Month icons on the header of the calendar

    • picking the date from the dropdown boxes, then pushing the "Submit" button:

  •

    what's next:

click on the links to find out more detail about events.  if you are adding an event, you will be taken through the process of adding a calendar event - this will take you through many steps, but it should be fairly quick and friendly, especially if you have gone through this a couple of times.
